Human Resources/Employee Relations -
- encourage feedback from your employees (a virtual suggestion box)
- develop a knowledge and information center - centralized source where employees can share their knowledge/experiences (ie. A successful new sales technique that works in Calgary can be shared with employees in other cities)
- encourage regular "online presentations" from various individuals/departments within the company so that they may share their knowledge with everyone else
- implement online training programs
- communicate instantly and on a regular basis by sending employee newsletters through email or placing them online
- present employee manuals, benefits information, company employment policies, client information, etc. - these can all be communicated to concerned staff and can be updated instantly (for example, if there is a change to the company policy on long-distance phone calls, this can be emailed to each affected employee so that they are instantly made aware of the change. The policy can also be posted to the online employee manual and individuals can choose to print it out as a replacement in their paper-version manuals)
